Inclusion criteria were: children and women with mental and physical health, age of children between 6 weeks through 6 months. Instruments include: standard transition difficulty to parenthood scale, demographics and Enrich Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (Mann-Whitney test and Pearson and Spearman correlation) and SPSS (version 16). Results: The mean age was 30.49±5.28 year and 75 women (62.5%) had academic education. The results showed no significant difference between two groups in difficult transition to parenthood (p=0.86). Marital satisfaction was not significantly different between two groups (p=0.69). There was an inverse association between transition difficulty to parenthood and marital satisfaction (p<0.001, r=-0.53). One of these skills is emotional intelligence and critical thinking. The purpose of this study was to determine emotional intelligence and critical thinking based on demographic characteristic. Methods: In this study, a cross-sectional descriptive - analytic design was used. A total of 130 nurses working in teaching hospitals in Qazvin participated in the study and the sample was selected by quota sampling (the response rate: 70%). TMMS and CCTDI were used for data collection. The data were analyzed using SPSS16. Fisher’s exact test and Pierson’s Correlation Coefficient was used for data analysis. Results: The majority of nurses had moderate level of emotional intelligence (67%), and level of critical thinking was ambivalence (78%). Among the demographic characteristics of the study, age, work experience and Fathers' level of education had significant relationship with emotional intelligence (P= 0.012), (P= 0.01) and (P= 0.047). There were no significant differences in critical thinking disposition of participants except Mothers' level of education that had significant relationship (P= 0.018). Data gathering tool included demographic information form and Beck depression (version-II) questionnaire. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson and Spearman correlation coefficients, student t-Test and Multiple linear regressions with stepwise method applying SPSSv18 software. Results: According to the results of this study 45.92% of the employees were suffering from depression. They were identified as 28.39% with low depression, 15.30% with moderate depression, and 2.22% with severe depression. A significant correlation was found between depression with education level (p=0.002) and work site (p=0.01), but that there was no statistically significant relationship between depression with age, sex, marital status, years of service and type of residence. The results of stepwise regression analysis indicated that the education level in the first model and work site in the second model were regularly the best predictions of the employees' depression, whereas they explained totally 25.7% of the variance of employees' depression.
