The statistical population consisted of all women seeking divorce who had recorded for divorce through Tasmim site of welfare organization in Tehran in 2021. Among them, 66 people (22 people in each group) were selected by the convenient sampling method based on inclusion criteria and then replaced in three groups: dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness based on cognitive therapy and control group. Research instruments included the Enrich Marital Satisfaction Inventory (1998) and Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (2003). The control group was waiting for their turn. Data were analyzed using repeated measure of variance analysis and Bonferroni post hoc test and SPSS25 software.
Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental groups and control group; And both therapy-intervention dialectical behavior therapy and mindfulness based on cognitive therapy increased marital satisfaction and resilience of women seeking divorce (P <0.05). Also, the results of Bonferroni post hoc test showed that the increase in marital satisfaction was more in the intervention of dialectical behavior therapy; And the increase in resilience was more in the mindfulness based on cognitive therapy (P <0.05).
Conclusions: According to the results of the present study, dialectical behavior therapy intervention can be effective in improving marital satisfaction of women seeking divorce; And mindfulness based on cognitive therapy intervention can be effective in improving resilience of women seeking divorce. Therefore, it is recommended that therapists and family counselors use these therapies along with other therapeutic interventions to improve marital satisfaction and resilience of women seeking divorce.
