Introduction: The infertility is hardest experience in couple’s relationship. The aim of current research is the comparison of early maladaptive schema and intimacy in married men infidelity and non-infidelity.
Methods: The sample includes 40 infidelity men and 40 men non-infidelity that were selected through targeting sampling, respectively, in the Karaj city and in 2013. The research instruments were early maladaptive schema and intimacy questionnaires.
Results: The findings of current research show that there is a significant difference between intimacy and early maladaptive schema in infidelity and non-infidelity men (p<0.0006). furthermore, there is significant difference between intimacy in two group of participants(P<0.024). In addition, there is a significant between intimacy and early maladaptive schema and it can predict early maladaptive schema through intimacy in this group (p<0.0001).
Conclusion: According the results of the present study, males who had extra marital relationship need high level of intimacy in their relationships with their couples. If they did not received enough intimacy from his partner they would be entrance in new relationship. Also, early maladaptive schema has influence on infidelity in men.
