Introduction: The body image concern in patients with psoriasis can lead to psychological and social problems. Therefore, the present study aimed comparison of the effectiveness of mindfulness based stress reduction with and without transcranial direct-current stimulation therapy on body image concern in patients with psoriasis. Methods:The research method in this study was semi–experimental design and pre-test, post-test, and one-month follow-up with experimental groups and a control group. The statistical population included all patients who were diagnosed withpsoriasisby referring to dermatologists in Tehran in 2024. Among them, 45 patients with psoriasis were selected based on the entry and exit criteria and by accessible samplingand randomly were assigned to 3 groups (15 people) of mindfulness based stress reduction, mindfulness based stress reduction with transcranial direct-current stimulation, and the control group. The first experimental group received the mindfulness based stress reduction training in 8 sessions of 90 minutes, the second experimental group received the mindfulness based stress reduction with transcranial direct-current stimulation therapy in 8 sessions of 90 minutes and the control group was in the waiting list. The research instrument included the Body Image Concern Inventory (BICI). The obtained data were analyzed using repeated measure of variance analysis (mixed design) and Bonferroni post hoc test with SPSS. 23. Results:The findings showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental groups and control group; both mindfulness based stress reduction with and without transcranial direct-current stimulation reducedbody image concernin patients with psoriasis and the effect of these therapeutic interventions in the follow-up phase has been stable (P <0.05). Also, the results of Bonferroni post hoc test showed that theeffectiveness ofmindfulness based stress reduction with transcranial direct-current stimulation training intervention onbody image concernwas higher than mindfulness based stress reduction training intervention (P <0.05). Conclusions:According to the research findings, it can be concluded that mindfulness based stress reduction with and without transcranial direct-current stimulation therapy interventions can be effective in improving body image concern of patients with psoriasis; It is recommended that therapists and counselors use these therapies for improving the body image concern of patients with psoriasis.
