Introduction: Divorce is a type of loss that affects people’s health and causes personal, family and social disintegration, and in most cases, its destructive effects on women are more severe.
Methods: This study was semi-experimental with pre-test and post-test design with control group. The research population was divorced women who referred to Masire Khoshbakhti clinic of Isfahan city in 2021 year. The research sample was 30 individuals who were selected by convenient sampling method and then randomly assigned to the experimental group and control group (15 people in each group). The research measuring instruments were general health questionnaire (Goldberg, 1972) and automatic negative thoughts questionnaire (Hollon & Kendall, 1980). Date analysis was performed using multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) using SPSS-26.
Results: The results of the analysis showed that reality therapy had a significant effect on improving general health and reducing automatic negative thoughts in divorced women in experimental group compared to the control group (p<0.05).
