Introduction: The adolescent period, which is characterized by rapid changes in physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development and by experimentation and risk-taking, is known as the period of risk-taking. The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between neuroticism, anxiety sensitivity, cognitive fusion, and emotional processing with risk-taking in adolescent boys.
Methods: This study was descriptive correlational research. The statistical population of the research was all Adolescent Boys in the second year of high school in District 1 of Ardabil city in the 2024-2025 That 340 adolescents were selected as a sample through the Krejci and Morgan table and multi-stage cluster random sampling method.
Results: The results of this study showed that there is a statistically significant between neuroticism (0.57), anxiety sensitivity (0.39), cognitive fusion (0.49), and emotional processing (0.32) with the risk-taking of Adolescent Boys. Also, using multiple regression, 0.51 of adolescent boys' risk-taking was explained by the variables of neuroticism, anxiety sensitivity, cognitive fusion, and emotional processing (p<0.05).
Conclusions: Given the impact of neuroticism trait, emotional exploration, cognitive fusion, and emotional processing on adolescent risk-taking, psychologists and experts are paying more attention to the role of these changes in reducing the risk-taking of Adolescent Boys.
