Introduction: The family is one of society's most important institutions, which requires stability and reliability due to marital satisfaction, satisfaction that requires interventions, and specialized training for spouses. The purpose of the present study is to compare the effectiveness of new reality therapy group training with a positive approach to women'smarital satisfaction. Methods: This research is semi-experimental with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The statistical population included all the women who had visited the police Counseling Center of the Peace of Mashhad in 1401-1402. 36 people were randomly selected and placed in two experimental and a control groups. The subjects of both experimental groups received 8 sessions of 2-hour group training, while the control group did not receive any type of intervention. Enrich Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire was used to measure marital satisfaction in pre-test and post-test. Results: The results showed that new reality therapy and positive approaches were effective in increasing marital satisfaction (P<0.05), but no difference was observed in terms of effectiveness. Conclusions:According to theresearch findings, it is suggested to use these two approaches as an effective solution to improve the marital satisfaction of clients in educational centers, family counseling and psychological services.
